Holistic Hottie™: Get Your Natural Glow On with "The Oil Cleansing" Facial
Castor oil does an amazing job of drawing out dirt from the pores. For the Oil Cleansing method, some people like to mix castor oil with extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) or jojoba. If you prefer that, after finding which ratio of castor to EVOO/jojoba is best for your skin, pour a quarter-sized amount and gently smooth over and into your skin with your fingertips. Because of it's antiseptic qualities, you may want to add a drop of therapeutic-grade tea tree essential oil to the mix. A itsy bitsy drop goes a long way.
Next - steam your face to detox your pores. You can wet a washcloth with hot water and put it over your face until it’s about room temperature OR with a towel over your head, lean over a steaming bowl of water for a couple of minutes. Finally - Gently wipe the oils off your face with a warm washcloth and enjoy the results. A small drop or two of castor oil can also be used as a daily moisturizer (however, very thick and tacky). Coconut oil, however, tends to be the preference.
